Commenting Policy

August 11th, 2008

In general I have a liberal commenting policy. I believe in open discourse and friendly debate on all topics. I have only two rules. One keep the language clean my children read this blog and I want to keep it to a PG level. Second commenters should be respectful to each other and to the host. In essence if you would not say it to the persons face then do not say it here.  Breaking of these rules will not be tolerated.

In order to enforce this policy I am having to make my commenting policy more rigid.

1. All commenters must have a name.  It does not have to be your real name but you must supply some kind of name. All comments that do not have some kind of moniker will from now on be held in moderation for a week if the person can not or will not supply even a pseudonym with which he/she can be identified with the comment will be deleted, regardless of the comments relevancy.

2. I prefer that commenters leave an e-mail address. E-mail addresses are not published but are there to allow me to contact an author whose comment has been deleted or outright banned from commenting.  I will always supply a reason.
